Horizen, a leading public layer 0 blockchain, has announced a strategic partnership with Ankr, a key Web3 infrastructure provider. This partnership allows Ankr to be among the first Remote Procedure Call (RPC) providers for EON, Horizen’s new Ethereum virtual machine (EVM)-compatible smart contracting platform.
This collaboration opens up possibilities for numerous use cases including decentralized finance (DeFi), gaming, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). These will provide additional accessibility, scalability, and reliability to the burgeoning EON ecosystem.
EON, the first of multiple smart contract sidechains from Horizen, is entirely EVM compatible. Ankr’s advanced Web3 infrastructure and services will enable Horizen EON to significantly enhance its performance and accessibility for developers and end-users.
Ankr's contribution to the partnership includes a set of developer tools that will streamline the development and deployment of smart contract apps on EON. Examples of these tools include the Liquid Staking Software Development Kit (SDK), Web3 Gaming SDK, and AppChains as a Service.
Ultimately, the partnership between Horizen and Ankr will allow the EON ecosystem to support an array of decentralized applications and services. The blend of Ankr's Web3 infrastructure, EON's EVM compatibility, and Horizen’s zero-knowledge enabled cross-chain protocol will create a permissionless, interoperable, and customizable blockchain environment for developers and end users.
