The current Alpha Test of Metacene operates on the Rangers Testnet, specifically the Robin chain. This emerging blockchain network offers a safe environment for players to familiarize themselves with the game’s initial stages. To join the Alpha Test, players can refer to the instructions provided on the official Metacene website to connect and register their accounts. Players are given a small airdrop of USDT (Testnet currency) which they can convert into MUD, the game’s virtual currency, to embark on their journey. An in-game marketplace is also available, facilitating player-to-player trades. The Alpha Test for MetaCene is slated to run from July 31st until August 7th.
Metacene presents a varied gaming experience with separate zones for PVE, PVP, and Neutral gameplay. In Neutral zones, players can opt to flag themselves, enabling them to partake in PVP activities. Defeating a player under the "Red Alert" status can yield the victor some of the defeated player’s gear. A virtual prison awaits those who accumulate excessive kills, although monster defeats can help lower their kill count. Notably, the PVP-designated zones do not impose imprisonment for engaging in PVP.
