Theta Labs, a leading decentralized video delivery network, is partnering with POG, a popular children's game from the 90s, to revive the game's charm and appeal to millennials and Generation Z players. They aim to bring the game back into the limelight by introducing digital collectibles, merging the past and the future through blockchain technology.
POG, once known as the Milk Caps game, was a massive hit among children, boasting a player base of 165 million and raking in significant weekly revenues. However, over the past two decades, POG's appeal faded. Today, the company seeks to rekindle nostalgia and engage with millennials and GenZ demographics who recall the joy of playing the game.
In collaboration with Theta Labs, POG aims to introduce POGCHAIN, a dedicated subchain on the Theta Network. The POGCHAIN will feature TNT20 tokens and NFT (Non-Fungible Token) digital collectibles, offering a unique gaming experience for the players.
POG's CEO, Kyler Frisbee, expressed his excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the company's aim to create an expansive ecosystem that connects their collections across multiple blockchains. On the other hand, Mitch Liu, the co-founder and CEO of Theta Labs, highlighted the emotional value that physical and Web3 collectibles provide to their holders, celebrating the potential of POGCHAIN to develop a brand-new ecosystem.
To mark the company's first anniversary in the Web3 domain, POG Digital is releasing its first Collector’s Box in 25 years. The box includes unique artwork from the POG archives, signifying the company's commitment to bring POG into the digital world.
